Kids in School

I have mentioned it more than once, but I am quite proud of how quickly Amy and the kids have picked up Spanish. The first couple of months were a bit rough (especially for Audrey and Bentz), but now they are all enjoying their hard work. We have been told by all of their teachers that they participate and speak up in class along with everyone else. On Valentine´s day, Jories class did a presentation for the rest of the school, and Jorie had a speaking part. Here she is with her teacher, SeƱor Patricio (who, by the way, is a fantastic teacher).

Here you can see Bentz lined up with the rest of his classmates. They often are required to line up in their classes when the morning bell rings, for announcements before class begins or to sing the national anthem (every Monday, which the kids don´t particularly like). Can you see which one is Bentz? If not, you really need some glasses.

Here is a video of Jorie giving her part of the presentation. Both Jorie and Audrey have turned into great reader in Spanish. In fact, Jorie has now almost completed the 4th book in the Harry Potter series. I can hardly believe she is tearing through them almost as quickly in Spanish as she did in English (I am only on the third, which I try to attribute to having less free time than her).
