Agualongo valley
We continue to be daily amazed by our beautiful surroundings. The combination of green valleys and towering volcanoes sometimes just feels magical. Up the valley from where we live are a couple of little towns, one of which is named Agualongo. One day Amy and I were on a ride up through the valley to prepare for the visit of a group of university students. The view looking backwards towards Otavalo and Imbabura volcano were simply amazing. The following are a taste of the view, although, as is often the case, pictures can hardly do it justice. Along the valley floor is a patchwork quilt of family farms and scattered houses. Along the upper portion of the valley is a small dairy. The idyllic sight of holsteins contededly grazing on a verdent green pasture almost makes me long for the farming days of my youth. Almost.
